Kashi Vishwanath Temple

Kashi Vishwanath Temple is one of the most revered Hindu temples dedicated to Lord Shiva, located on the western bank of the holy Ganga in Varanasi. It is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas — the most sacred abodes of Shiva. The temple has been a central symbol of Hindu faith for centuries, attracting millions of devotees from across the world.

One of the Twelve Jyotirlingas

The Jyotirlinga at Kashi Vishwanath, known as Vishwanath (Lord of the Universe), is believed to grant liberation (moksha) to those who worship here with devotion. The Skanda Purana states: "In Kashi, even a single drop of Ganga water can liberate a soul from the endless cycle of birth and death."

Kashi Vishwanath Corridor

The Kashi Vishwanath Corridor, inaugurated in 2021, connects the temple directly to the Manikarnika and Dashashwamedh ghats. This grand project has transformed the approach to the temple, providing a spacious, clean, and spiritually uplifting pathway for pilgrims.

Darshan Timings & Aarti

The temple opens early in the morning and remains open until late evening. The daily aartis — including the famous Mangala Aarti, Bhog Aarti, and Sandhya Aarti — are profound spiritual experiences. Visitors are advised to check the official timings before planning their visit.
